Tax Scam Alert

This is a tax scam alert, reminding everyone that:

• The IRS will not text, email or message you on social media
• The IRS knows your personal information, thus won’t ask for it via text or otherwise
• The IRS does not threaten you about overdue tax penalties via email
• The IRS does not offer you tax refunds by text, email or on social media
• Do not click on a link, call a number or return an email like those above
• To verify any concerning message, use a phone number, email address or website that is verified, like irs.gov
