Emergency Pendants for Continuing Care Residents Visiting Independent Living Community

Beginning July 27, Continuing Care residents visiting Independent Living will have the option to sign out an Independent Living emergency pendant for use during their time in the Independent Living community.

To obtain a pendant, please stop by the front desk in either Caton Woods or Wilton Overlook before leaving your neighborhood and request one from a Front Desk Specialist. Upon returning, simply return the pendant to the front desk, where staff will sign it back in.

This process is being implemented to provide an additional layer of safety and security while residents are in Independent Living. The emergency response system used in Continuing Care is separate from the system used in Independent Living, and the two systems do not communicate with one another. Having an Independent Living pendant available will help ensure residents can access emergency assistance if needed while visiting Independent Living areas.

Participation in this program is completely voluntary. Front Desk Specialists will be trained to remind residents of the option and ask if they would like to sign out a pendant before leaving the neighborhood.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this program, please do not hesitate to reach out. This initiative is being rolled out in partnership with our Security team, and we are confident it will provide an added level of safety and peace of mind for our residents.

Thank you for your partnership and support.
