The lightning connector is a cable connector used by Apple iPhones and iPads. When you want to connect another device by cable to an iPhone, such as a battery charger or printer or earphones, or a big screen, you must use a cable with a lightning connector on the end that plugs into the iPhone. It is not the only way to connect to an iPhone, since there are wireless connections available, too, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, touch, voice, NFC, and even magnetic charging. The lightning connector may be replaced by a USB-C connector in the coming 2023 models, according to strong rumors.
