Fireside Artists of Charlestown
Sandy Mack, President
In 2010 a small group of Charlestown residents hung some paintings in the Fireside dining room. They became the Fireside Artists. Today, with more than 30 members, the Fireside Artists are residents who enjoy every artistic endeavor: drawing, painting, sculpting, and making jewelry. They currently install a new show in the Gallery in April and October.
Everyone is welcome.

Gallery News: May 2019

The Spring Members’ Show by the Fireside Artists of Charlestown is now on display with three pieces on view from each participating artist. There is also a special exhibit of the work of former Charlestown resident, Maxine Guertler, who died in March.
Fireside Artists present programs that are of interest not only to practicing artists, but also to whose who like to look at art and learn more about it, to enhance their appreciation. All are welcome to their meetings. On Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 10 AM in the CTS Card Room, Fireside artist and BMA docent, Carol Davisson, will lead an activity inspired by the major show currently on view at the BMA, Monsters and Myths – Surrealism and War in the 1930s and 1940s. This exhibit includes the works of artists including Dali, Magritte, Masson, and Breton. The activity will allow each participant to create a Surrealist-inspired collage. Most materials will be provided, but please bring your own scissors and glue stick. Surrealists created with the idea that the subconscious would be their guide and so can you!
