Meeting Frequency & Location
The semi annual meetings are now scheduled for the Charlestown Square Gallery at 11:00 am-noon on April 25, 2023 and October 17, 2023. Other meetings as needed.
The Maryland Continuing Care Residents Association has a Chapter at Charlestown. MaCCRA is the only organization which is solely dedicated to protecting and advancing the interests of residents of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). We support, empower, and better the lives of residents in Maryland’s continuing care retirement communities through advocacy and education. Charlestown becomes the 18th chapter in Maryland. Membership is $20 per year for an individual and $30 for a couple. The membership year is July to July.

MaCCRA is affiliated with the National Continuing Care Residents Association (NaCCRA). Membership is $25 per year for an individual and $45 for a couple. The website is naccra.com
Next MaCCRA Meeting Will Be Held Oct. 22 on Zoom
The Charlestown Chapter of MaCCRA will hold their annual meeting on Tuesday, October 22, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. It will be a ZoomAI Companion is a generative AI-powered assistant from Zoom (for those with the paid version). It uses large language models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta, and has also trained itself by listening in on thousands of meetings between Zoom employees. Some of its uses include:

At the state level, MaCCRA supported the provider organizations LeadingAge MD and LifeSpan Network’s request to the Maryland Health Department on flexibility in testing and visitation.
