Our Sales Department, under new Sales Director Matt Dougherty, actively meets with current residents to discuss the ability to accommodate their changing needs. Regularly, Sales listens to residents’ needs to try to match them with their current needs. Some current residents seek options to save money monthly, while also preserving assets. Others may be considering a move due to health changes or the loss of a spouse or partner.

Resident Peggy Reiber was the subject of an Erickson Tribune article back in 2019 describing her loss of her husband and realizing the two-bedroom apartment she was living in was more than she required. She reached out to Sales and found the exchange for a one-bedroom and bath was appealing to her, aesthetically and financially. Peggy is willing to speak with anyone interested in discussing her experience.

Recently, resident Barbara Law approached Sales when her situation was altered by her husband needing to move to Wilton Overlook. She was successful in relocating to a smaller apartment closer to him in Arborside, relocating from her Herbert’s Run apartment. She is very happy and willing to share her experience also.

There are a lot of factors to contemplate when considering a move to another apartment. Every move may look and act differently for residents on 100% refundable contracts as compared to residents on 90% refundable contracts. But in either case, Sales can meet with you to define the associated costs, or potential savings, in detail for your specific situation.

Meeting with Sales provides the opportunity to review multiple factors including:
· Demand for your current location
· Custom features of your apartment
· Options and features you are looking for in an alternate location
· Costs estimates for a move including new customizations and moving costs
· Any potential options for Sales to potentially help you offset costs and make the move happen

As we are staring at a larger-than-normal monthly service increase this month, Sales would like to be good partners with current residents to see if they can assist with any cost-saving opportunities you may be able to achieve by downsizing to a more appropriate apartment. If the possibility is a good option for you now, reach out to Matt and let him know. He will be up front about any costs associated with your move, or if your existing apartment is desirous, so you can make an informed decision. The adage “you don’t know unless you ask” is in play here.
