David Elder, the Pet Group Chair, opened the meeting at 11 am.

Eleven members were in attendance.

Old Business:

Dr. Nesbit, the cat doctor who comes to Charlestown, will be here on October 8th, November 19th, and December 17th. Dates for 2022 have been scheduled.

Paradise Animal Hospital was here for the first time on September 16th and was very pleased to be doing something for the community. They will be here again on October 21st, November 18th, and December 16th. Dates for 2022 have been scheduled on the third Thursday each month. Call their office for an appointment.

The storage locker was cleaned out and the contents were donated to the Maryland SPCA.

At a previous meeting, someone asked about printed data we had previously handed out. The referenced material turned out to be the Maryland Pet Gazette. David Elder contacted them to get copies for us to distribute. They are no longer printing the magazine but will send copies of the 2019-2020 (final) printed edition which we will have available at the next meeting along with a Pet Emergency Infocard. They do have material available online at www.mdpetgazette.com

New Business:

Fr. Leo will hold the annual blessing of the pets on October 4th at noon at the statue of St. Francis in front of the chapel.

The Pet Group table at the Fruits of our Labor event was very successful. Several new current residents stopped by with various questions about the group. In addition, several people who intend to move here stopped by and took a tri-fold with them for future reference.

It was decided not to make 180 copies of the meeting minutes and the manpower to distribute them but instead to mail them to those in attendance at the meeting.

THE NEXT MEETING IS OCTOBER 26TH, always on the 4th Tuesday.
