Charlestown Hams Test Their Skills During Field Day

The Charlestown Amateur Radio Club recently participated in the American Radio Relay League’s 2024 Field Day where more than 40,000 amateur radio operators throughout North America utilize their transmitting stations to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. Field Day combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event.
One June 22 and 23, Ed Wallace, amateur radio callsign K3EF, operated from the Ham Radio Office on the first floor of the Edgewood Building and made voice contacts with other amateur radio clubs in Wisconsin, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Iowa and Florida.
