Below is the list of reoccurring topics of interest I have taken the responsibility to maintain and update periodically or when timely. I submit them after sending them to Managers to alter or add before re-submitting them to reappear in the Sunburst or our website.

1. The General Services contact instructions are on our website, with the current hours under General Services Communications. If you do need something fixed or repaired, call, or for non-urgent requests, residents may fill out a Request a Service Work Order online under the ME icon Forms. If there is an emergency after hours, or on weekends, call Security for help. There are now GS Response Forms on ME to report on your service call to GS. The page includes an extensive article on the Comcast contract apartment TV connections that was posted on 6/18.

2. Reoccurring Opportunities for Voicing Concerns are listed under Campus Info>Getting Things Done and Getting Started. The Council Communication Form icon on our website can be used to alert the Council to a problem. Also, the Administration welcomes comments, please send them to ccifeedback@erickson.com.

3. Resident Directory Info: The latest printed version, August, can be obtained by asking at lobby desks. The only E-directory is on My Erickson, which is password protected. The E-directory is in the process of being gleaned for accuracy. Changes to both directories should be referred to the Res. Life Asst., Deanna Booker, at Ext. 601-8230.

4. ccicharlestown.org: Under Education, the ELLIC Fall Catalog is posted, the registration form will be available on 9/1 and the registration begins 9/6. We have updated the Admin. Org. Chart, photos of the Exec Administration Team, and Board of Directors are posted under Getting Things Done on our website. There is an extensive Comcast posting by Larry Taylor on our bulk contract with Erickson under the TV icon. The Help icon has directions to add photos to resident MyErickson profiles, among other useful topics. Hope is creating a team of residents to assist other residents with the use of computers, those interested in helping can reach out to her. Questions or suggestions for the website may be submitted on the Home Page.

5. BCF: The Treasure Sale brought in $36948 to be distributed. Emily is looking for volunteers for specific TS jobs as seen in the August Sunburst. Call Emily to Reserve your spot for an Ice Cream Sundae at the BCF Info Session on 9/11 at 1PM in the Gallery. Please pass the word to your neighbor’s families if they are in a move-out situation, to call Emily for approval to help clear out apartments, see no. 8 on this list. The Ruby Anniversary Gala is on 9/22/2023 and there are 50-50 Raffle Tickets on Sale for $25 each. The Ladies Boutique Summer Sale continues and Second Hand Rose fall arrangements are on display in the Short Line window. Memory Bricks ($200) are now on sale for the Fall Memory Walk on Tues., Nov. 7. Last date to purchase a Brick is 9/7.

6. Community Resources: Our annual Fruits of Our Labors Expo is scheduled for Friday, 9/15, from 11 AM to 2 PM in the Cross Creek area. IL Card Players are desperately needed in CC, contact Allison. She is also looking for presenters for Display Cases around Campus. Council Committees are to urge their members and others to add photos to their ME profiles. The CCI website has directions for this under “Help”. ME has added an e-form to order a repair from General Services. There is a Fall Fun Festival scheduled for Oct. 13 at 3PM for residents, staff, and families. Brittany is having a creative decorating contest to support the event.

7. Medical Center: Flu Clinics are scheduled for 9/6 in the Refectory, and 9/20 for the Cross Creek Card Room, or you can get the vaccine at regular routine scheduled appointments, so please wait and get your special brew shot here rather than outside the campus. A Mask may be required at the Medical Center if a resident is symptomatic. Sign up for the Care Path Program, even though you may have your doctor off-campus, in case of emergencies. Check CC visitation restrictions before you go there. Please complete any surveys you receive from MDPCP or Medicare regarding doctor visits. Remember to schedule and keep your Annual Wellness visits. If you are going to the hospital on your own (i.e., elective surgery) please let Security know.

8. Move-out Process at the End of Life article is in the August Sunburst and is found permanently on our website in the Blog area. BCF is asking us to inform families that we offer our volunteers to pack up any donations left behind in loved ones’ apartments and that there is no charge for the removal of approved larger items left for donation to the Treasure Sale. Our volunteers work quickly because they realize time is of the essence. Emily Fowler is their contact at 410-737-8892.

9. Housekeeping has a Spring Cleaning Special continuing through 9/23. Exterior Window Washing will begin 8/28 so look for a letter for your building schedule. Home Support Services will have a table at Fruits of Our Labors and offer free BP screenings. Also, they have hired a new Physio guy named Ron, a new nurse named Elena and have openings for new customers.

Extras: The Charlestown Archives invites Archive photo takers and anyone who takes pictures, to the Gallery on Thurs., 8/31 at 7 PM for a short meeting or call John Yoder for more info. Little Theatre is looking for recording and sound support help, call Pat Fagan. Ellie Dipietro needs residents to serve as Friendly Visitors in Caton Ridge and Harborview. Brittany is looking for backup Birthday Angels for all buildings. New trash pickup schedule starts Monday, 8/28!

Happy Labor Day!
