We have positive COVID activity. Wilton Overlook 2 is on outbreak status. The potential end date is April 3. Wilton Overlook 3 continues on outbreak status. The potential end date for Wilton Overlook 3 will be March 25. Please understand that we are on outbreak status whenever there is a positive resident and/or employee. Communal dining and group programming are on hold for those residents that are either on isolation or quarantine on Wilton Overlook 2 and 3. Staff will wear surgical masks on Wilton Overlook 2, and continue to wear N95 masks on Wilton Overlook 3. Visitors will see signage posted that requires visitors to wear masks when they enter a neighborhood. Visitors can only remove their masks when they are in their loved ones apartments. For all other areas on the neighborhood, they should wear a mask. We will continue to review this as needed.
If you are newly diagnosed COVID positive, or are placed on quarantine, please do not visit your loved one.

All visits should still be conducted utilizing appropriate social distancing, personal protective equipment including surgical masks and minimizing personal contact. Please note that we are offering virtual visitation through our programming department. If you wish to schedule a virtual visit, please contact Rob Hunter, Director of Programming at either 410-737-8838 or 601-8974.

Core principles and best practices that reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission must continue to be followed:

·    Screening of all who enter the facility for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and denial of entry of those with signs or symptoms

·    Hand hygiene (use of alcohol-based hand rub is preferred)

·    Surgical mask (covering mouth and nose)

·    Social distancing at least six feet between persons

·    Instructional signage in the facility and proper visitor education on COVID-19 signs and symptoms, infection control precautions, other applicable facility practices

·    Cleaning and disinfecting high frequency touched surfaces in the facility often, and designated visitation areas after each visit

·    Appropriate staff use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

·    Effective cohorting of residents in their apartments

·    Resident and staff testing conducted as required by regulation

 Testing

Residents do not have to be tested unless there is a positive result or show signs or symptoms.

If there is a positive result, we will be testing residents at least weekly until there are no new positives for 2 weeks.

Each resident will continue to be assessed across all 3 shifts to be checked for COVID-19. These assessments will include vital signs, change in condition and any new or worsening signs or symptoms. These may include; temperature, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, runny nose, fatigue or shortness of breath.

Please be assured that if your loved one shows symptoms of COVID-19, or has been in contact with anyone who is being tested, or has developed the virus, we will contact you immediately.

We continue to implement extensive preventive measures and full infection control measures to combat the COVID-19 virus that meet or exceed CDC guidelines.  Our number one priority continues to be the safety and well-being of all residents.

A few of the measures we are taking include:

·        Screening all individuals/employees entering Continuing Care for symptoms.

·        Equipping our staff with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure the care needs of our residents are managed well, while remaining protected and safe with the other residents in Continuing Care.

·        Methodical tracing, quarantining, monitoring, and testing of residents and/or staff who have come into contact with someone who has symptoms.

·        Monitoring resident temperatures, oxygen levels, and having designated providers to support Continuing Care.

·     Isolating residents who test positive in their private rooms, where they are managed by COVID trained staff who utilize infection control procedures.

·        Monitoring of all employees who are out sick and on quarantine; and implementing robust and strict guidelines that must be met before someone can return to work.

Again, we thank you for your support. If you have additional questions, feel free to call us at 443-297-3359.

Sincerely,
Pauline Fraser, Director of Continuing Care
