Below is the list of reoccurring topics, of interest, I have taken the responsibility to maintain and update periodically or when timely. I submit them after first sending them to Managers to alter or add before re-submitting them to reappear in the Sunburst or our website.

1. Need Something Fixed or Repaired? Updated General Services contact instructions are on our website, with the current hours under General Services Communications. A posting was in the March Sunburst, advising residents to call the Computer Services phone for Internet issues, and reminding residents that Charlestown provides free HD through Comcast. NEW: Push *1 on any common area courtesy phone to immediately reach Security. The Gate has new maps for delivering vendors, so address your labels precisely when ordering online, including building names. The EMNS AlertMedia origin phone number is 410-632-6424.

2. Reoccurring Opportunities for Voicing Concerns: Found listed under Campus Info>Getting Things Done and Getting Started. Most info is awaiting confirmation whenever these types of gatherings will convene again. In the meantime, there is a stream-lined version of existing events on the website, including the new Dining events. The Council Communication Form icon on our website can be used at any time to alert the Council to a problem. Also, the Administration is welcoming comments, and to send them to ccifeedback@erickson.com

3. Resident Directory Info: The printed version, issued this month, April, can be obtained by asking at lobby desks. The only E-directory will be on My Erickson, which is password protected. Changes should be directed to the Res. Life Asst., Deanna Booker, at Ext. 601-8230. Residents will be automatically included in the E-directory, to opt-out you must contact CR. To join My Erickson, contact CR.

4. ccicharlestown.org: This is where usually AlertMedia/Swift Reach was placed, but we feel that topic is in hand, now that the EMNS origin phone number 410-632-6424 has been established. With the advent of the new Sunburst layout and more input going into website content, we’ll present what’s new in this space. Such as hitting on the Resident Writers icon on our Home Page for the work of our contributors Julie and Dayle. Also, Hope has posted her Ellic Class content under the “Website Team” icon. Join us for our Council Website Communications meeting this Monday at 1 PM.

5. BCF: Seasonal Pop Up Sales are scheduled for clubs to sell their items for BCF, the next is June 24 in the Chesapeake Lounge area. Treasure Sale donations are now being accepted. The Treasure Sale May 5-7, despite the rain, was a success, bringing in $31,653, 80% of which goes to the BCF. The Spring Memory Walk is Thurs., May 26 at 10 AM. Tin Cup is scheduled for June 6 at Rolling Road Golf Club and Philanthropy is selling 50-50 raffle tickets for $20, see the resident website for details.

6. Community Resources: Stephanie Knowles will be leaving at the end of the month, but volunteers are still needed. The Groups/Clubs listing is completed and the 2022 issue of Groups/Clubs will be forthcoming. Rose asks Council Committees to continue to urge their members and others to add photos to their ME profiles. The CCI website has directions for this under “Tech Help”. Look for new ME icons coming in June, as well as an increased 60-minute timeout. An outside “Summer Solstice Spectacular” is being planned for 6/10, pamphlets are available at the lobby desks.

7. Medical Center: Masks are required at the Medical Center, in all healthcare situations, and in Continuing Care. Dean asked us on 972 to please complete the CMS Surveys, sent by Medicare, regarding recent visits to our Medical Center. Get your Annual Wellness visit. Sign up for the Care Path Program, even though you may have your doctor off-campus, in case of emergencies. Check CC visitation restrictions before you go there.

8. Move-out Process at End of Life: Found permanently on our website in the Blog area. An updated article, including the need for an “Authorization for Entry to Living Unit” form, was approved by Finance and was published in the April Sunburst. A similar Transition Process article was in the November Sunburst and is posted on our resident website.

9. Housekeeping has resumed resident apartment cleaning service, with Spring cleaning specials now available. Home Support Services want to remind residents that they can help with laundry, pet care, and meal delivery services among the many other services offered as shown on our website under Home Support.

Extras: Independent Living Visitors, Vendors, and Staff should all be masked if not vaccinated along with anyone providing direct health care. Masks are still required in CC. Clara’s replacement is Chandra Kumar from Greenspring Village, starting 6/6. New resident Sales are going very well, with only 74 open Apts. as of 5/2. Be aware of the G3 sunset on your medical telemetry devices; there is a May Sunburst article. The Sunburst will no longer carry “In Memoriam” or “New Residents”, apparently an Erickson Corporate decision. Medication Take-Back will be on 5/23. Catering will be available for limited “Memorials”.

Quarantine sign requirements: The other residents should simply not go inside the apartment or have conversations within 6ft or less with folks that are quarantined. The signs are posted on the doors to caution non-quarantined residents and staff and if the directions are followed, then others will be safe. If they have medical follows ups etc…they can go. They simply shouldn’t be in dining rooms and other common areas with others.
