To help you with voter registration, the League of Women Voters has some events planned. The Charlestown Unit of the Baltimore County League of Women Voters has about 44 members. Fifteen resident volunteers took the voter registration training for the 2024 elections to help out.

Other ways to register:

Mail in Voter Registration Application to the Board of Elections (BOE). It must be post-marked by the deadline, April 23 for the May 14 Primary, and Oct. 15 for the Nov. 5 General Election.
Every Charlestown Lobby Front Desk has Voter Registration Applications and Mail-In Ballot Request Forms. Just ask to have a copy made for you.
CAVEAT: Mail-in ballots are not forwarded if you are out of town and put in a forwarding request to the USPS. Don’t make that mistake!

If you receive a mail-in ballot, you can also drop it off on Election Day at our precinct. you must sign to log it in; then it goes in a locked pouch to be counted later. Or use Ballot Drop Boxes at Arbutus Library, and Catonsville Middle or High Schools.

In person at many state agencies such as the MVA or the Board of Elections (Baltimore County’s is in Owings Mills).
At our Precinct in the Conference Center on election day. Bring an acceptable ID your with address, for example, your driver license.

It is very important that you need to update your registration if:

You just moved to Charlestown, changed apartments, or moved to Continuing Care.
Your name changed, or you want to change your party affiliation.

You can register for the first time, or update your registration online with the Board of Elections.

To check your registration, go to vote411.org and look yourself up! You should receive a new Maryland voter registration card in 3 weeks. If not call the Board of Elections: 410-887-5700.
