Below is the list of reoccurring topics of interest I have taken the responsibility to maintain and update periodically or when timely. I submit them after sending them to Managers to alter or add before re-submitting them to reappear in the Sunburst or our website.

1. Need Something Fixed or Repaired? Updated General Services contact instructions are on our website, with the current hours under General Services Communications. GS has cracked down on delivering carriers. Do your part and address your labels precisely when ordering online, including full building names with your apartment number when possible. If you receive a misdelivered package, report it to your lobby desk. Greg Johnson asks us to return all carts and wheelchairs to the closest lobby desk, or preferably to the one on which it is marked.

2. Reoccurring Opportunities for Voicing Concerns are listed under Campus Info>Getting Things Done and Getting Started. The current Admin Organizational Chart has been updated on our website under Campus Info. The Council Communication Form icon on our website can be used to alert the Council to a problem. Also, the Administration welcomes comments, please send them to ccifeedback@erickson.com.

3. Resident Directory Info: The latest printed version, May, can be obtained by asking at lobby desks. The only E-directory is on My Erickson, which is password protected and controlled by IT, however, residents can make their own changes to their profile on ME. Changes to the printed directory should be referred to the Res. Life Asst., Deanna Booker, at Ext. 601-8230. The E-directory is currently being gleaned for accuracy. Be patient and stay tuned.

4. ccicharlestown.org: The bills tracked by the Residents’ Council Legislative & Political Committee now show the ones that have been signed by the Governor. Menus for Continuing Care are now back on the website. The current Admin Organizational Chart has been updated on our website under Campus Info. The Help icon has directions to add photos to resident ME profiles, among other useful topics. Hope is creating a team of residents to assist other residents with the use of computers, those interested in helping can reach out to her. Questions or suggestions for the website may be submitted on the Home Page.

5. BCF: The Treasure Sale was a huge success, bringing in $37K. The next TS is scheduled for 7/27-29. No Pop-Up Sales are scheduled, but clubs may sign up with Community Resources to sell their items on Tuesdays when the TS stores are open to benefit BCF. Volunteers are needed for TS apartment clean-outs, packers, pickers, sorters, and more. Please contact Allison Chlada at ext. 601-8133 to help. Also, please pass the word to your neighbor’s families if they are in this situation, to call Emily to help clear out apartments, see No. 8 on this list.

6. Community Resources: CR has been working hard to ensure a great Ruby Celebration! There was a terrific Scholars’ Ceremony this week celebrating 35 years of the Program. Allison is looking for volunteers for wheelchair escorts to help other residents. Council Committees are to urge their members and others to add photos to their ME profiles. The CCI website has directions for this under “Help”.

7. Medical Center: Residents wanting a 2nd Covid Bivalent Booster before Fall, can call Adrian to participate in their June 20th clinic. Masks are no longer required at the Medical Center unless symptomatic, and a screening procedure has been implemented to make sure those residents bring a mask. Sign up for the Care Path Program, even though you may have your doctor off-campus, in case of emergencies. Check CC visitation restrictions before you go there. Please complete any surveys you receive from MDPCP or Medicare regarding doctor visits. Remember to schedule and keep your Annual Wellness visits. If you are going to the hospital on your own (i.e., elective surgery) please let security know. Dean has listed help for seasonal allergies in the May Sunburst.

8. Move-out Process at the End of Life: Found permanently on our website in the Blog area. BCF is asking us to inform families that we offer our volunteers to pack up any donations left behind in loved ones’ apartments, and that there is no charge for the removal of larger items left for donation to the Treasure Sale. Our volunteers work quickly because they realize time is of the essence. Emily Fowler is their contact at 410-737-8892.

9. Housekeeping has a Spring Cleaning Special continuing through 9/23, and look for a Dumpster Day next month or so. Home Health will have more BP and Balance clinics scheduled in the future, rotating to all neighborhoods.

Extras: The Charlestown Archives requires a Photography Event Coordinator, who doesn’t necessarily have to be a shutterbug, the contact is Veronica Coleman or John Yoder. The Resident Library is still seeking volunteers, contact Joan Powell. The Harmonizers need tech help for their upcoming May performances. Little Theatre also is looking for support help, call Pat Fagan. Brittany is asking for a Coordinator for the Birthday Angels, in Herbert’s Run and Brookside. Volunteer! Help is needed. Dining has the “Joiner Program” for residents to dine with others. Again, if you missed the Scholars’ Ceremony, you can watch the video soon on My Erickson.

Happy 40th Anniversary, Charlestown!
