Below is the list of reoccurring topics of interest I have taken the responsibility to maintain and update periodically or when timely. I submit them after first sending them to Managers to alter or add before re-submitting them to reappear in the Sunburst or our website.

1. Need Something Fixed or Repaired? Updated General Services contact instructions are on our website, with the current hours under General Services Communications. GS is cracking down on delivering carriers. Do your part and address your labels precisely when ordering online, including building names. If you receive a misdelivered package, report it to your lobby desk. Greg Johnson asks us to return all carts and wheelchairs to the closest lobby desk or preferably to the one on which it is marked, plus EV drivers: Slow Down!

2. Reoccurring Opportunities for Voicing Concerns have been recently updated and are listed under Campus Info>Getting Things Done and Getting Started. Note: Resident Council Meetings will begin at 3 PM in the future. The Council Communication Form icon on our website can be used to alert the Council to a problem. Also, the Administration is welcoming comments, and to send them to ccifeedback@erickson.com. Consider becoming a member of the Resident Council, your knowledge can be useful to the Community.

3. Resident Directory Info: The latest printed version, February, can be obtained by asking at lobby desks. The only E-directory is on My Erickson, which is password protected. Changes should be directed to the Res. Life Asst., Deanna Booker, at Ext. 601-8230. Residents will be automatically included in the E-directory, to opt out you must contact CR. To join My Erickson, contact CR. If you have not received the recent phone calls or texts from Alert Media, reach out to Deanna.

4. ccicharlestown.org: The IT Glossary is now listed under Help on our website and, also now posted, is the Maryland Bills Tracked 2023 that are being followed by the Legislative/Political Committee. Residents’ Council Meetings will now be at 3 PM on the first Tuesday of every month to help attract more residents and staff. As we move along on the 40th Anniversary theme, check out the website’s News icon for reports on the activities of the resident clubs and organizations. The Help icon has directions to add photos to resident ME profiles, among other useful topics. Hope is creating a team of residents to assist other residents with the use of computers, those interested in helping can reach out to her. Questions or suggestions for the website may be submitted on the Home Page.

5. BCF: The Feb. Treas. Sale raised $35,452. The Treasure Sale collection line has reopened. Pop-Up Sales are scheduled, but clubs may sign up to sell their items on Tuesdays when the TS stores are open to benefit BCF. Volunteers are needed for TS apartment clean-outs, packers, pickers, sorters, and more. Please contact Allison Chlada at ext. 601-8133 to help. Did I hear Ruby Gala on 9/22?

6. Community Resources: Allison is looking for presenters for Display Cases around Campus. Volunteers are needed! Council Committees are to urge their members and others to add photos to their ME profiles. This is supported by the Council Res. Life Committee with an eye on our 40th Anniversary next year. The CCI website has directions for this under “Help”.

7. Medical Center: IL Covid numbers are up and masks are recommended in Public. Masks are required at the Medical Center, in all healthcare situations, and inside Continuing Care. More Suite Specialists have been procured and info will be available soon. Sign up for the Care Path Program, even though you may have your doctor off-campus, in case of emergencies. Compare the Erickson Advantage Health Plan to your present plan for the upcoming year. Check CC visitation restrictions before you go there. Remember to wash your hands to contain the flu!

8. Move-out Process at the End of Life: Found permanently on our website in the Blog area. An updated article, including the need for an “Authorization for Entry to Living Unit” form, was approved by Finance and was published in the September Sunburst. Cara Miranda is presenting a “Special Event” talk on planning your future at Charlestown, along with the Finance Team on Tuesday, 2/28 in the Auditorium between 2 PM-4 PM.

9. Housekeeping has no specials at this time but a heads-up to gather old documents you want to shred for a bulk Shred-it Event at Cross Creek at the end of March, or soon after. Home Health had a special BP and Balance clinic on Friday 2/17, and by popular demand they will do more of them in the future, rotating to all neighborhoods.

Extras: Congrats to Dr. Steve Schimpff on becoming a Resident BOD. Naomi, thank you for your excellent service. The Charlestown Archives requires photographers, Contact John Yoder. The Resident Library is still seeking volunteers, contact Joan Powell. Brittany is asking for “backup” Birthday Angels, in Herbert’s Run and Brookside, to be available for emergencies. Little Theatre is looking for support help, call Pat Fagan. Volunteer! Help is needed. Again, consider becoming a member of the Resident Council–it’s a noble endeavor!
