Guest Speaker:
Bettina Straight is the Organizational Development Consultant at Mercy Medical Center and an independent training consultant. She holds a BA in Sociology, an MS In Student Personnel Administration and has been training on various leadership and diversity topics for over 20 years. As a trainer, her goal is to help participants see a subject from a new perspective, to engage them in respectful, honest, and productive conversation, and to leave them with a sense of connectedness and new understanding. Using personal experiences, observations, and the wisdom of those who know more than she does (as well as a bit of humor), she is willing to hold discussions from which others steer clear.

Have you ever wondered what someone meant by that?
Do you ever feel like technology makes our communication worse, not better?
Does it seem like people have lost their patience or just seem rude?

It’s not uncommon to feel like it’s harder to relate, that civility is a thing of the past, and that communication is strained. Join us for a discussion about how we can improve communication and enjoy the opportunities we have to interact with others in our community.
