5G

5G networks are cellular networks for telephones, in which the service area is divided into small geographical areas called cells. It is the latest approved standard for cellular networks. All 5G wireless devices in a cell are connected to the Internet and telephone network by radio waves through a local antenna in the cell. 3G was discontinued by December 2022. 4G networks are still available.
