Friends of UMBC Meets August 10
Friends of UMBC Gathering
Thursday, August 10, 2023
1 – 2:30 PM
Brookside Classroom 1
Program: Members of UMBX’s founding four classes (1970 – 1973) will share stories from their new book, This Belongs to Us.
Their presentation will be followed by an open discussion and sharing of our members’ UMBC experiences and memories – especially those of parents and grandparents of UMBC graduates from more recent years. Whether you are a UMBC graduate, parent of alumni, former faculty or staff member, or connected to UMBC in any other manner, please join us to reflect on how far UMBC has come from these buildings, a lot of mud, and plywood sidewalks to a vibrant university community.
Few other universities have their original graduates, faculty and staff to keep alive the memories, challenges, and mystique of their beginning years. This is a unique opportunity for us.
Feel free to bring your lunch, snacks, drinks, or other fare.
