MaCCRA is helping to do that!

Beginning on 1/1/2023, a bill supported and promoted by MaCCRA will require senior facilities to increase their required reserves from 15% to 25% of their net operating expenses. This means these facilities, like Charlestown, must keep a ‘rainy day fund’ to be there in case of financial stress, such as the sale of a facility.

Help us continue the effort by joining our Charlestown Chapter of the Maryland Continuing Care Residents Association (MaCCRA).

Dues are $20 per individual and $30 per family of which 85% go to our voice in Annapolis, Barbara Brocato. She recently said legislators come to her asking. “What does MaCCRA want?”

MaCCRA Membership Drive begins in June.
