Donate Your Unworn Goodies to the
Ladies Boutique And Benefit Us All

Is re-visiting your closet part of your spring cleaning ritual?  Well, this year, do your seasonal review with an eye toward finally downsizing, and donate some of the nicest pieces you never wear or had forgotten you owned to the Ladies Boutique.

Shoppers are flocking to the shop (some come in every week!) and thanks to them, the Boutique made a very significant four-digit contribution to Charlestown’s causes, including our vital Benevolent Care Fund, in the first quarter of 2022.

However, our spring flock of enthusiastic shoppers has had a downside, of sorts.  With Treasure Sale donations on hold, the shop’s inventory is beginning to suffer … the “good stuff” is popular and flying out the door … but very little new merchandise is coming into the shop!

If you’ve enjoyed shopping at the Boutique, think how wonderful (and cathartic) it could be to choose some of the best spring and summer pieces you haven’t worn in years from your own closet and donate them to be purchased and enjoyed by others!!

Ask yourself if you really need 60 tops (enough so that you could wear a different top every day for two months!).  How are you ever going to find the time to wear every one of those 23 pairs of white pants (in a wide range of sizes)?  Why are you holding on to that fabulous cache of size 6 clothing when you’ve been a size 10 for eight years???  And conversely, now that you’ve reduced your profile to a size 12, why are you holding on to your 1X wardrobe?? (It may be gorgeous … but let’s face it, it’s taking up lots of space, and you never really want to wear that size again.)

So, gather up your top-end goodies, give them a run through the washer and dryer if they need freshening up, and bring them to the Ladies Boutique on any Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  While you’re there, look around and maybe have a chat with a neighbor.  You may decide to come back week after week yourself, to see what’s new to you at a price that is ridiculous and that supports Charlestown’s Benevolent Care Fund as well.

It’s a win-win, Baby!

Charlestown’s Ladies Boutique, on the Terrace Level of Herbert’s Run, is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The inventory is ever-changing, and the prices are phenomenal.  Watch this NEWS column and MyErickson Daily Happenings for notices of special boutique events and services.
