Treasure Sale ladies boutique

The Ladies’ Boutique is sporting a more “upscale” look these days … and shoppers are loving it!! In addition … ta-da … the shop has added a select line of jewelry to its offerings! Necklaces, bracelets, and earrings to enhance the shop’s tops, jackets and special event wear are beautifully displayed in a brand-new cabinet … and special pieces have been used throughout the shop to accessorize some of the loveliest display ensembles.

Gone are the heaviest coats, sweaters, and wooly pants; the latest inventory features lighter-weight tops, blouses, sweaters and jackets in a wide range of wonderful colors and patterns. Capri pants and crops are back … with seasonal tops and tees being vetted and put on the shelves every day.

Right now, shoppers are delighted with what they see … a gorgeous array of scarves, some truly super blouses, and cover-ups in a wide range of spring and summer colors. And earning “Best in Show” is a fabulous collection of wonderful pre-loved designer purses (some brand-new) at a fraction of their original three- and four-digit prices. My niece, the purse nut, can’t wait to get over here from Alexandria and explore the treasure trove of leather goodies, and hopes to pad her spring wardrobe with some good buys in casual wear as well.

With the demise of appointments to shop and other COVID restrictions, the boutique has come alive, and for the past several months has been making very significant contributions to Charlestown’s good causes every week. Six or seven shoppers often share the small venue (sometimes more), and the volunteers are kept on their toes helping customers find just the right item. It isn’t at all unusual for shoppers to leave with a huge bag containing several items, often with a total under $40.00!! And the atmosphere often resembles a Girls’ Day Out, with shoppers asking one another for opinions on color, style, and fit, or complimenting a fellow shopper on an especially stunning find.

This week’s success story was the dressy pants, top and cover-up plucked from various departments in the shop and put together by Peggy Romenesko to create a fantastic ensemble (including a purse) for a thrilled resident to wear to her nephew’s beach wedding.

Come on in and have a look, Charlestown ladies. If you’ve never visited the boutique you’ve missed finding your own find of the week at a price that will make you want to come back next week and try again!
