Sassy Seniors Perform

If you’re walking through the halls and you hear voices singing and toes tapping, follow your ears; you just might get to catch a performance of Charlestown’s own musical and variety group, the Sassy Seniors.  The group’s leader and creative director, Norma Wolff, came to Charlestown with a love for dance and line-dancing, but couldn’t find any such existing activities or groups — so she started her own, including teaching interested newbies.  One class led to two, and it wasn’t long before she found herself talking to classmates about forming a performance group.

Now up to nine members, Sassy Seniors have put together a one hour program of song, dance, and musical skits with a few jokes sprinkled in here and there.  They are performing to audiences off campus at nearby senior centers and retirement communities.  They do it for the love and fun of performing but are also garnering fees which they donate entirely to Charlestown’s Benevolent Care Fund.

The group would surely appreciate help adding one more member – a soprano, and any publicity referrals we can provide to possible venues at churches, neighborhood and senior centers.
