Animal prints have been a smash with women since caveman days (when they wore REAL skins). Skins were also worn frequently during the 1930s and 40s by the slinky likes of Josephine Baker and Eartha Kitt. And they once again became a hallmark of elegance when Jackie Kennedy wore a leopard fur coat in one of her most iconic fashion moments in the 60’s. THAT coat refined style and solidified the place of animal prints in high society (a far cry from a cave in the woods).
Fast forward to the mid-2000s when the trend had peaked and died out, having been deemed trashy, not chic. BUT, in 2025 animal prints are BACK … and they’re everywhere! Confident, punk, and still a little sexy, it’s the only print with real attitude.
So … run yourself over to our very own Ladies’ Boutique … because the shop is DRIPPING with gorgeous items in fabulous animal prints! Manager Peggy Romenesko has had a ball assembling a display to take your breath away … just in time for autumn and its chillier air.
Also on tap at the boutique is a fantastic selection of “fall wear” … vests, sweatshirts, pullover and cardigan sweaters … and coats, for those of us who are already preparing for winter!
The Ladies’ Boutique is located on the terrace level of Herbert’s Run, and is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We’d love it if you’d help us support the environment by bringing your own bag!
