Although the pharmacy name will change, residents will continue to receive care from the same pharmacy team, at the same location, with the same services and insurance participation.
Some things you may be curious about:
- Existing prescriptions: The pharmacy will work directly with prescribers if any additional information is needed. You do not need to request an updated prescription due to the change. However, if your doctor prescribes you a new medication, they will be able to search for “Main Street Pharmacy at Charlestown” to place the order electronically. Pharmacy wallet cards with details for prescribers will be available at the pharmacy after October 1, 2026.
- Patient information: Will transfer to the new pharmacy system as part of the transition. The only action you will need to take is to provide your credit card on or after October 1, 2026 to the pharmacy staff if you use autopay.
- Main Street Pharmacy will participate in the same insurance networks. If your insurance currently covers your prescriptions at CVS, you will experience no disruption in coverage.
- Staffing and Hours of Operation: The same pharmacy team will continue to serve you at Charlestown, and the hours of operation will not change.
During October, stop by and explore the refreshed product selection—and be sure to pick up a new rewards card so you can earn discounts on future Main Street Pharmacy purchases. Please note, Main Street Pharmacy is not associated with CVS and your CVS ExtraCare card will no longer be valid at this location after September 30, 2026.
