Creating Common Memory, video and discussion featuring Mark Charles speaking about the “real history” of this country.

Mark Charles, a Navajo man, is a speaker, writer and consultant who seeks to understand the complexities of American history regarding race and culture in order to help forge a path of healing and conciliation for the nation.

Everyone who is concerned about racial justice and equity is invited to attend this gathering. It provides an opportunity to learn about:

*The “Doctrine of Discovery” of 1452 and its influence on our history and current laws

*Little known facts about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution

*Abraham Lincoln’s writings about slavery and emancipation

*The other story of Western Expansion

*Changing the narrative to one of liberation for everyone
