Soundtrack for a Revolution

Juneteenth Holiday: Our DEIB Council of Residents will host June’s “Movies to DEi for” on the 3rd Friday of the Month instead of the 4th Friday.

On Friday June 19th, we will offer a celebratory movie, “Soundtrack for a Revolution,” at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. The story of the American civil rights movement is told through its music–the freedom songs that protesters sang on picket lines, in mass meetings, in police wagons, and in jail cells as they fought for justice and equality. This movie shows how music provided courage, solidarity, and a voice for protesters.

Come celebrate Emancipation Day with a tribute to the Civil Rights movement. We Shall Overcome!
