LOW VISION badges are available at lobby front desks. Make sure to secure your badge with extra adhesive or tape.

What is low vision?

Low vision is a permanent, significant loss of visual function that cannot be corrected with glasses, surgery, or medication. It means that you can see detail clearly. It makes everyday activities like reading, recognizing faces, or viewing electronic devices difficult.

Why wear a law vision ribbon?

The LOW VISION ribbon, attached to your Charlestown badge, alerts residents that you cannot see as well as they can. It is a symbol of awareness that you may need assistance with reading menus, prescription bottles or anything else important to you. It also suggests that walkers, drivers (scooters and power chairs) may want to provide extra caution when approaching you.
