According to the American Heart Association, “Walking briefly can lower your risk of high blood pressure, high-cholesterol and diabetes as much as running. Walking is an important form of physical activity.”

Join the 2nd Annual Walk for Heart Disease Awareness! Come and bring a friend as we walk our way to a healthy heart in support of Heart Disease Awareness Month and Go Red Friday, on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, with two check-in locations in the Fireside Lounge and Cross Creek Lobby.

We will be walking the inside building loop of Charlestown. Pre-stretch exercises conducted before walking at 10:30 – 11 AM, courtesy of the Fitness Center team. Free blood pressure screenings offered until Noon. When you check in and register to walk, your name will be entered into a raffle prize drawing. Water and fruit will be available for walkers. Look for informational tables in select lobbies throughout campus. Heart Healthy lunch meals will be served in the Terrace Café and Shortline Café during February.

During the month of February, wear something Red every Friday
