Softball (Sluggers)

A group of guys and gals who like to play ball and have fun hitting, catching, and throwing the softball around. Our only rules are to have fun, get exercise, stay safe, and enjoy the sunshine. Tournaments with other Erickson communities are also played.

Congratulations to the Charlestown Sluggers Softball Team!

On Wednesday, June 7, the Charlestown Sluggers defended their title and, for the second year in a row, were crowned champions of the Annual Erickson Living Softball Tournament! The Sluggers defeated Riderwood in the first round of play, 19 – 1. In the final round of play, they defeated Greenspring 12 – 2.

Led by coach Bob Nitsch, the Sluggers worked hard for the championship series. Their focus, talent and energy helped them keep the first place trophy right here at home!

Players and spectators from our sister communities, Oak Crest, Riderwood, and Greenspring, enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day rekindling friendly rivalries and indulging in America’s favorite pastime.

Tournament Results:
 Charlestown defeated Riderwood 19 – 1.
 Greenspring defeated Oak Crest 7 – 0.
 Oak Crest defeated Riderwood 8 – 5.
 Charlestown defeated Greenspring 12 – 2.
