BCF table at the September 2023 Fruits of our Labor

December Comments from the Council President

Generosity is a quality displayed in Charlestown time and time again. Whether it be just kindness and concern toward each other, volunteering of time and talents, or supporting charities by contributing materials, food and money, Charlestown residents express their generosity daily. Our employees, too, have been generous. The daily care and attention they give to our needs exceed what is expected of them and many have become like family. We give each other a listening ear, hugs, affection, and comfort when needed. We have all been negatively affected by the economy, yet your generous contribution to the Staff Appreciation Fund will help our wonderful employees have a nicer holiday season. Thank you; they so appreciate your generosity.

As we celebrate the winter holidays, let’s try to celebrate what went well this year instead of dwelling on what went wrong, especially if it was beyond our control. Let’s find something to be grateful for. Many dream of what we are blessed with: a wonderful home, delicious food at our table, medical care at our doorstep and the opportunity to make new friends just by stepping out of your door. Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself from negativity! Smile! It’s the best anti-depression medicine.

I am grateful for you and wish you and your families a wonderful holiday season. May you be continued to be blessed!
