Low Vision Support Group
David Graham, Leader
This is an education, support, and advocacy group for residents with low vision. Low vision is a visual impairment that affects an individual’s ability to perform everyday tasks such as reading, seeing faces, doing crafts, hobbies and other activities. It results frequently from eye conditions such as macular degeneration glaucoma and other eye conditions, illness, injuries, or, quite simply, the aging process.
At our meetings you can:
- Share practical tips for daily living
- Learn about magnifiers, lighting, technology, transportation and other resources
- Discuss the challenges and changes that come with vision loss
- Meet people who understand your experiences
- Find encouragement, information and connection
Everyone is welcome, including adults living with low vision, care partners, family members and friends.

Volunteer Needed to Work with Low Vision Group
The Residents’ Council is in search of an enthusiastic, organized volunteer to serve as group secretary and plan and arrange activities for the low vision group, which is a subcommittee of the Council’s Resident Life Committee.
The volunteer will attend monthly meetings with low vision members of our community, prepare meeting minutes, send reminders and other pertinent emails to group members, and help with program planning.
If you’re a gregarious person who enjoys planning and participating in events and is interested in making a meaningful contribution of time and talent to our friends and neighbors, contact David Graham by phone and leave a message. Contact information can be found in the Resident Directory, available online in MyErickson.
