Pickleball at Charlestown
Pickleball is a fast growing sport that is played on a badminton sized court, with a tennis net, ping pong paddles and a whiffle ball. If it sounds crazy, come try it out. Charlestown has provided balls, and paddles for you to experiment with, and tutors to help you learn to play. The beauty of Pickleball is that the court is smaller, so there is less running and twisting on your knees. But it is a real sport and we guarantee you will get a workout, and some great laughs. All you need to bring is tennis type shoes. You can come and try it out free for one session and if you enjoy it..come join us. We have all different levels of players and everyone is welcome.
Pickleball is played off campus at the Arbutus Recreation Center during the school year. We play indoors on Mondays and Fridays from 12:00 to 2:00. The Arbutus senior Center is our sponsor. In order to play, join the Arbutus Senior Center, get a years membership free, then join the “Pickleball Course” by paying $20.00. That covers your play through December. The center is less than 4 miles away and has ample parking.
