The April meeting of the Charlestown Genealogy Club will be held April 10, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Brookside Classroom 1. At the meeting, Dick Kreitner will present “Using the National Archives Online Resources for Genealogy Research.” He will demonstrate how to easily navigate this free site to find information about your ancestor’s passenger ship arrival, military service, census records, and other valuable items.
Dick moved to Charlestown from Connecticut in November 2025. He has spent many years researching his ancestors from Germany, Switzerland, Ontario, and upstate New York, including travel to these areas. He was a frequent presenter to local Connecticut genealogy clubs, using examples from his own research and emphasis on resources available online and using artificial intelligence. He is a member of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, the Western New York Genealogical Society, the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, and the Naugatuck Valley (CT) Genealogy Club. He is looking forward to both sharing his experience and learning new genealogy insights at Charlestown.
