The semi-annual meetings are now scheduled for the Charlestown Square Gallery at 11:00 am-noon in the spring and fall. Other meetings as needed.
The Maryland Continuing Care Residents Association has a Chapter at Charlestown. MaCCRA is the only organization which is solely dedicated to protecting and advancing the interests of residents of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). We support, empower, and better the lives of residents in Maryland’s continuing care retirement communities through advocacy and education. Charlestown becomes the 18th chapter in Maryland. Membership is $20 per year for an individual and $30 for a couple. The membership year is July to July.
Contact Pat Payne for information or check the website at maccra.org. Here you will find information on the activities of the group, including the Annual End-of-Session Legislative Report. There is a private group on groups.io that is used to share information about the group.
Ann created the following video in June, 2020, which presents background information, mission, and activities of MaCCRA.
MaCCRA is affiliated with the National Continuing Care Residents Association (NaCCRA). Membership is $25 per year for an individual and $45 for a couple. The website is naccra.com
MaCCRA Annual Membership Drive
We invite you to join the Charlestown Chapter of MaCCRA, the Maryland Continuing Care Residents Association. MaCCRA is the only organization that represents residents living in continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). MaCCRA exists to keep you informed about issues that impact CCRC residents and to speak on your behalf at the Maryland General Assembly and Department of Aging.
We believe that residents should have our voices heard on matters that concern our home, our investment and our health. MaCCRA has successfully added protections in the law to provide more security for our financial investment. The majority of our MaCCRA dues help fund Barbara Brocato, MaCCRA’s legislative liaison since 1994.
The website, MaCCRA.org, provides more details on MaCCRA’s accomplishments and current activities.
We hope that you agree and will join MaCCRA. The demands on your time will be kept to a minimum – we have two meetings per year supplemented with emails as events and issues occur.
Membership dues are $20 per year for an individual or $30 per year for a couple. Our fiscal year is July 1 to June 30. Dues are tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. Your check should be made payable to MaCCRA Charlestown Chapter and sent to the Chapter Treasurer, Victor Pyles (see his contact information in the Resident Directory). Simply fill in the form on the bottom, detach it and place it in an envelope with your check into the inter-campus mail box near your lobby desk.
