USB‑C (or USB Type‑C) is a small, reversible connector used on most new laptops, tablets, smartphones (including recent iPhones), and many accessories to carry data, video, and power over a single cable. It shares the same plug shape as Thunderbolt ports on modern Macs and PCs, so many USB‑C and Thunderbolt cables and devices can be used interchangeably, and in many cases USB‑C can also connect displays as an alternative to HDMI, though HDMI is still widely used and not fully replaced.
