Keeping You Engaged & Informed

As we navigate these unprecedented times, we all crave ways to stay connected. In this pamphlet are a few tips along with links to various websites to provide some new activities.

In addition, we are going to try a few things to connect with residents:

  • Would you like to participate in our daily puzzle challenge? We’ll be sending out crossword puzzles, word searches, and suduko games to help pass some time. We’ll also draw for prizes weekly!
  • Want to participate in BINGO? We are looking to start playing bingo via conference (web and phone)!

STRESS REDUCTION TIPS

  • Mental Health Breaks: remember it is important to keep on top of our mental health, especially during stressful times. Meditation, prayer, music, exercise and nature are some ways people are able to de-stress.
  • Calm is a free app you can get for your phone that offers guided meditation.
  • Go outside for some fresh air: If you are able to get outside, enjoy the beauty of the Charlestown campus. Just remember to keep social distancing in mind!

  • Video Chat with loved ones: via Facebook, Google Duo, Skype, Google Hangouts, Messenger, Zoom, etc. This article tells you about the various ways of virtual chatting, gives links to the programs and helps you get

  • Start an in-home book club: Find a book online, have a friend or two also read it and then call or video chat with each other to discuss the book
  • Write letters of encouragement to staff, family, friends, community workers, etc. Inner community mail is still happening so you can drop notes to anyone in the building or if they are a resident leave them on their shelf.
