Computer Related Activities:

Virtual Trip to Egypt: Explore and learn all about Egypt.
History 101: Netflix has a new series called History 101. They are 30 minute episodes and topics that vary from the “Fast Food Industry” to “Oil in the Middle east”. Your grandchildren might even enjoy some of these programs!
“Things you want to know”: National Geographic offers a facts pages on a wide variety of topics. These are geared towards children, but are fun for adults and a great resource to share with the children in your life! While on the phone with your grandchild, challenge them to study the same topic as you which will make for a good discussion/book report for you both to share!
Learn the Skill of Couponing: A little secret about Stephanie Knowles is that she is an “extreme couponer” which has saved her thousands of dollars over the years and gives great satisfaction when getting a deal/free items! Now is a great time to learn this skill. In the future feel free to chat with Stephanie and compare notes.

Non – Computer Related Activities:

•  Weekly Writing/Journal Topic of the Week: What does it mean to have a successful life? What is the best way to measure success? Why?
Feel free to share your responses. Email them or send them through inter-community mail. We would love to get to know you better. They will be kept confidential.
•  Preserving Memories: Do you have old photos that you treasure but you’re not certain how to do so? How about making them into greeting cards. For example: use a photo of you with your grandchild when they were young and create a card that can be used for remembering their graduation, birthday or a special occasion. All you need is some cardstock, the photo and an adhesive (such as glue sticks) and you are all set. If you have photos that you would like to do this with, but prefer not to do it on your own, Janet Evans has very generously offered to make them for you!  Her phone number is in the Resident Directory.
•  Make a Life/Dream Collage: Using some old magazines (call/email and we can deliver some), cut out pictures that either inspire you, places you have traveled to or dream of traveling to or things you have done in your life. Glue or tape the pictures to paper and make a collage that is meaningful to you.
